Position Summary:

The Technical Sales Manager serves as the primary technical resource for SafanDarley’s North American sales team – offering technical assistance to distributors as the sales manager. This position requires strong technical aptitude in addition to software tool expertise and excellent customer service skills. The Technical Sales Manager also conducts trainings and demonstrations of press brakes and software tools as needed by the internal sales team and distributors. This position requires frequent travel within the USA, Canada, and occasionally Mexico.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with distributors on application questions and pricing

• Train distributors as SME on the new products and features

• Provide technical support to the distributors and internal sales staff

• Conduct open houses to show how SafanDarley products work

• Serve as liaison between distributors and headquarters to determine what is needed to sell and be successful in U.S. market

• Track performance of distributors and build forecasts of upcoming needs

Travel Responsibilities:

• Approximately 35% travel within USA, Canada, and Mexico will be required, along with travel for training to SafanDarley Headquarters in the Netherlands  


Success Criteria:

Your success will be measured based on:

• Complex understanding of products, applications, and features

• Distributor satisfaction with training on products

• Documentation of work and maintenance of up-to-date procedures

• Development of high-quality training materials for sales team

• Positive working relationship with field service representatives, customers, and distributors


Basic Qualifications:

• Familiarity with press brakes, automation software and robotics

• Provide exceptional customer service

• Strong analytical problem-solving skills 

• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions

• Ability to travel frequently; valid passport and driver’s license 


Desired Experience and Traits:

• Working experience as a Technical Sales Manager in an industrial setting; with knowledge metal press brakes 


Physical Requirements:

• Constant use of hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking

• Frequent handling of materials
